About Dr Ali
Dr. Tofik Ali established Global Eye Physicians and Surgeons in 2011. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pennsylvania. He also earned an advanced Graduate degree in Master of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health.
He completed his medical internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA. Dr Ali performed his ophthalmology residency training at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center in New York.
He went on to complete a Fellowship training in Cornea & External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Flaum Eye Institute, University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, NY.
Dr. Ali has been involved in the teaching and training of ophthalmology residents for more than a decade. He has been serving in a Faculty Leadership and Medica Director position at the Georgetown/Medstar Hospital Ophthalmology Residency Program at the Inova Fairfax Lions Eye Clinic, since 2012.
Dr Tofik Ali is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, and is an active member of the two main ophthalmology societies in the U.S., the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AOA) and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS).

First of all, for all those impatient people, please rate the doctor's knowledge and services, not the fact that he may be late tending to another patient who needs urgent care! It is unfair and it makes some of us miss on a good doctor. Dr. Tofik is very professional, very knowledgeable, takes the time to explain things to those who "must" know the cause of their health issues - and not just settle for the cure of the symptoms. He gave me invaluable information and advice that will save me hundreds if not thousands of dollars on - in my opinion - not absolutely necessary medicine. With this honesty and care for the patient, Dr. Tofik is such a great follower of the Hippocrates Oath. Dr. Tofik was referred by my family care doctor, whom I saw on an urgency base because I had a hemorrhage in the eye. I saw Dr. Tofik for a second opinion, and I am really impressed. The way he delivered the diagnosis made me trust his judgment, and I appreciate very much the fact that he really explained to me options, side effects, which made worth the waiting time. There are good magazines in the waiting room, and we all have gadgets to keep us busy- so to all of his patients: please do not be unfair and complain about the waiting time.
